  • What is a PTA?
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. The Carter Elementary PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education.
  • What does the PTA do?
Our purpose is to enhance students’ education by sponsoring cultural arts programs, making improvements to our school classrooms and grounds, hosting family events, and fostering communication between faculty and parents. We do this through fundraising and volunteering.
  • What can I do to help enhance my student’s education?
A key way to show support and involvement is by becoming a PTA member. Your membership helps support valuable enrichment programs and equipment that Carter Elementary otherwise could not afford. Through PTA membership, you can participate in your child’s education by volunteering for a committee, attending meetings, voting on important PTA decisions, and providing ideas and feedback. Whatever level of involvement you choose, your time and effort shows your child that you care about his/her education.
  • Why is membership important?
The more members we have, the more support the children in your school and community will receive.
  • What are the benefits of joining?
The PTA benefits parents as well as students/staff/school. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. Joining the PTA also means you get a “VOICE and a VOTE” in helping shape the education of your child at Carter Elementary. Individuals can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA membership, including: - discounts at businesses (local and national) - e-newsletters - and much more!
  • Who can join?
The Carter Elementary PTA is open to anyone who cares about children and schools. It is made up of parents, students, guardians, family, friends, teachers, and members/business owners of the community.
  • How do I join?
Joining is simple! Head over to our store and add a membership to your cart!
  • What do my dues pay for?
Carter Elementary PTA is a local PTA, and as such, a small portion of our dues goes to the state and national PTA offices. In return, local PTAs and members receive access to many valuable resources, information, grants, support, and training programs.
  • How can I volunteer?
We have many opportunities for parents to volunteer and make a difference at the school. There are ways to help, even if you work full time or have younger children in your care. Keep an eye on our homepage as well as our social media accounts for volunteer oppotunities.
  • How can I keep updated on Carter Elementary PTA/Carter Elementary School information, activities and events?
